I actually started this post a number of months ago, 3 months latter am getting back to it because my mental projection wanders, it does take time for me to get back into how I want to project a certain topic and put it down on the screen. Today we are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, my thoughts are still with the impact on what we are doing to Earth and some of the things on TV I just shake my head, the fire effected areas are still suffering
I sit here tonight pondering about it all, what happened, did it actually happen or was it just a dream. If you weren’t in the middle of areas impacted by the fires, then it was a mental impact, only can go through the motions and wake up in the mornings without seeing/feeling the scares.
I look at this from a natural/wildlife/environment aspect because from my point of view, thats where the real impact is, it doesn’t matter how much money you have or give, the rebuild of a natural environment takes a long long time along with the untold inhabitants loss and rebuild. Dependant on how you are connected with nature, the mental impact can vary from sadness and move on to deep regret on what humans have done to Earth, feeling guilty by giving money as a salvation to feel better, volunteer or sit and weep with no real understanding on how to move forward. I tossed and turned and still today am impacted on what we have and still do to the Earth, what is my role, want to help but why am I holding back
When I have looked at it from the outside in, there are small contributions that can be done within your own area which will all add to the bigger picture. As a fire impacts one area, another area continues as if nothing has happened so it is our area whether impacted or not that we looking after to the best of our ability that we can find comfort in. There are simple things to do, make sure there is clean good water out, shelter, protection from intruders and domestic animals to name a few, TV garden shows and around to give you ideas, local volunteer groups that do small jobs around the area. What you do, think about how this will impact Earth
What I believe is don’t let your emotions make you commit to something then regret it afterwards, in volunteering for a wildlife group or landcare, get a feel for what they require and how you can help, slowly get involved, this way you will continue and enjoy.
